It was the last Friday of the month in July on the 28th day that James Clifton Wallace became absent from his earthly body to be present with the Lord.

Jim was born in Cincinnati, OH on September 17, 1945 to Edgar and Yvonne Wallace.  He, along with brother, Jon and sister, Ruth later relocated to Marshall County, KY and were raised on a large farm where hard work was ingrained in him from the earliest of ages.  Throughout his life, fun could be had on that farm with horse riding, hog killings and any other shenanigan Jim could manage to devise.  After graduating from Marshall County High School, he joined the United States Marine Corp and completed basic training at Parris Island, South Carolina before a knee injury cut his military career short.

Once back in Kentucky, Jim completed schooling to become a heavy equipment mechanic and enjoyed a profession that lasted over fifty years before retiring.  He was a union member of Local 181 Operating Engineers for over fifty years, as well as a member of the Benton Masonic Lodge.  To know Jim was to love him and with a sharp mind and skillset to fix things, if you were his family or friend he would gladly offer you a blueprint on how to remedy any situation you found yourself in.  If you needed physical help, he would offer that too.

Jim was a member of First Assembly of God in Mayfield.  He loved to hunt, loved the outdoors and had a variety of hobbies, which most of the time involved tinkering around in his shop or the kitchen.  You could count yourself lucky if you ever found yourself eating his biscuits or his turkey and dressing.  He loved to travel to the mountains and often provided commentary and laughter to the group of his traveling friends.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife of thirty-three years, Barbara Wallace; two daughters, Jennifer (Johnny) Evans of Benton, KY and Keara (Greg) Crouse of Leesville, LA; one brother, Jon Wallace; and three grandchildren, Lindsay Evans (Jordan Williams), Caleb Crouse and Owen Crouse.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth Richerson and his parents, Edgar and Yvonne Cox Wallace.
