LYON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE MEDIA RELEASE

  1. On Thursday, July 6th, 2023, around 9am, Chief Deputy Sam Adams arrested Curtis R. Jennings (61) of Kuttawa on a Lyon District Court bench warrant for Contempt of Court. Jennings surrendered himself to the Sheriff’s Office and was able to post bail and be released from custody.

  1. On Thursday, July 6th, 2023, around 5:30pm, Deputy Aaron O’Leary and Sheriff Brent White were dispatched to a disturbance complaint on Jennifer Lane off KY 93 South. Upon arrival of Deputy O’Leary, a male subject placed two children in his vehicle and fled the scene. Sheriff Brent White located the vehicle and observed it disregard a stop sign and upon attempting to stop the vehicle, the driver failed to yield to the Sheriff’s emergency equipment and a pursuit ensued.

The driver led Sheriff White and an Eddyville Police Department Officer on a lengthy, slow speed pursuit on KY 93 South and KY 274 before reaching a residence North of the Trigg County line. After a brief standoff, the driver exited the vehicle but would not comply with verbal instructions from law enforcement.  A female at the residence also would not comply with verbal instructions from law enforcement. Eventually, the driver came out of the vehicle unarmed and upon attempting to take him into custody, he attempted to flee back to his vehicle before being the recipient of a Taser deployment and being forcibly restrained by multiple officers. The female resident attempted to physically prevent another law enforcement officer from assisting in the arrest of the driver and she was subsequently arrested by another law enforcement agency.
