LYON COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE MEDIA RELEASE

⦁ On Tuesday, June 20th, 2023, around 12:30pm, Chief Deputy Sam Adams received a complaint of illegal dumping on the Lyon County side of the Crittenden County line off KY 295 North. Following an investigation into the dump site, Chief Deputy Adams located and charged two Lyon County residents with Criminal Littering. Christopher P. Kilian (57) of Kuttawa and William J. Preuss (38) of Kuttawa were both charged with one count of Criminal Littering. They face a July 12th court appearance in Lyon District Court.

⦁ On Wednesday, June 21st, 2023, around 7:30pm, Deputy David Carroll located Billy Owens (46) of Kuttawa on Dustin Road. Owens was served with a Lyon District Court bench warrant for Failure to Appear in court regarding a Harboring Vicious Animal charge. He posted bond and was later released from custody.

⦁ On Thursday, June 22nd, 2023, around 9:30am, Sheriff Brent White responded to a trespassing and traffic hazard complaint on Ladd Road. The callers reported a vehicle parked and abandoned in the roadway and two subjects trespassing on private property. Sheriff White located Jeremy D. Sarcinella (40) of Princeton and Chris A. Bradley (43) of Horse Cave. Both subjects were detained and later arrested. Bradley was charged with Criminal Trespass-3rd Degree while Sarcinella was charged with Improper Parking/Blocking Traveled Portion of Roadway, No Insurance-1st Offense, Criminal Trespassing-3rd Degree, and Drug Paraphernalia-Possession (two used Methamphetamine syringes). In addition, Sarcinella was charged by KY Probation & Parole with Felony Probation Violation. They were both lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.

 

⦁ On Thursday, June 22nd, 2023, around 12pm, Deputy Lori Francis served two bench warrants on Jessica Thornberry (40) of Morehead for Failure to Appear or Pay from Carter and Elliott Counties. She will remain in state corrections custody until being extradited out of Lyon County.

⦁ On Saturday, June 24th, 2023, around 12:13pm, Chief Deputy Sam Adams responded to a single vehicle collision on KY 810 North in the Suwanee community. His investigation revealed a 2015 Ford F150, driven by Daniel S. Wison (56) of El Paso, IL was South on KY 810 when he left the roadway and lost control of the vehicle before striking a state road sign and causing damage to his bumper and windshield. No injuries were reported in the collision.

⦁ On Sunday, June 25th, 2023, around 9am, Sheriff Brent White served a Lyon Circuit Court bench warrant on Conner D. Bean (22) of Brinkley, AR after Bean was extradited to Kentucky from Arkansas. Bean was charged with Failure to Appear in court to answer charges relating to drug trafficking and tampering with evidence.

⦁ On Sunday, June 25th, 2023, around 1:18pm, Sheriff Brent White was investigating a hit & run collision from a Kuttawa business parking lot off Days Inn Drive when he located the involved vehicle which reportedly left the scene, at a residence off KY 810 North. Further investigation led to the arrest of the vehicle’s owner, Tiffany S. Hearod (34) of Kuttawa, for Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Possession of a Cancelled or Fictitious Operator’s License, and Resisting Arrest. Hearod was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center and her vehicle was impounded for further investigation.

⦁ On Sunday, June 25th, 2023, around 11:20pm, Sheriff Brent White and Officer Josh Travis of the Eddyville Police Department responded to a single vehicle collision on Elkhorn Tavern Road. The investigation revealed a 2015 Chevrolet Cruze was East bound when the operator was driving too fast for the conditions and failed to negotiate a curve before leaving the roadway, impacting an embankment, and colliding with a tree. The vehicle received significant damage and the driver fled the scene prior to law enforcement arrival. On Monday, June 26th, around 9am, the driver surrendered himself to the Sheriff’s Office and was identified as Michael D. Peek (48) of Eddyville. He was charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident. He faces a July court appearance in Lyon District Court.

 

 

⦁ On Monday, June 26th, 2023, around 12:35pm, Sheriff Brent White stopped to check on a subject walking on KY 93 South at Eddy Bay. The person was identified as Robert Peek, Jr. (64) of Eddyville. He was arrested on a McCracken District Court bench warrant relating to his Failure to Appear on two theft related offenses and one contempt of court offense. He was lodged in the McCracken County Jail.
