Nutrition Services Manager at the Marshall County Health Department, Paul Rudd, along with interns Ryan Allen and Lydia McNeil joined us for a 3rd time on WCBL’s Coffee Call program. Allen and McNeil are from the University of Kentucky with the Dietetic Intern program. Allen says they are conducting a three week series on health and nutrition. McNeil says the first week concentrated on how to save on your grocery bill, the second week on exercise and this third week on the importance of sleep and nutrition. Allen says we need 7 to 9 hours of sleep each night, but only 1 in 3 hit that mark. She says lack of sleep can affect our hormones and can lead to weight gain. You can follow the series on the Marshall County Health Department Facebook page or go to www.marshallcohealthdepartment.com.
