  1. On Thursday, January 12, 2023, at 5:24pm, Deputy David Carroll responded to a single vehicle collision on KY 93 South between Friendship Road and KY 274. The investigation revealed a 2011 Chevrolet Traverse, driven by Mary J. Choat (64) of Kuttawa, was Southbound when it collided with a tree which had moments earlier fallen across both lanes of traffic.  The impact caused significant damage to the vehicle; however, none of the vehicle’s occupants reported any injuries.

 

 

  1. On Friday, January 13, 2023, at 11:40am, SRO Deputy Jason Young charged two high school students (ages 14 & 15) with Intimidating a Participant in the Legal Process, a class D felony. The two students are accused of harassing and making threats to a witness in an earlier criminal complaint investigated by the School Resource Officer.  The incident was witnessed by several students and corroborated by video evidence.

 

  1. On Friday, January 13, 2023, between 7:30am and 11am, Sheriff Brent White served Lyon Circuit Court Indictment Warrants on the following offenders:

 

  • Santiago Torres (28) of San Lorenzo, CA. He is charged with Trafficking Marijuana > 5 lbs. and Speeding.
  • Josue Valdovinos (24) of Oakland, CA. He is charged with Trafficking Marijuana > 5 lbs. by Complicity.
  • Taylor Glass (33) of Kuttawa. He is charged with Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of Controlled Substance-2nd Degree & 3rd Degree, Illegal Possession of a Legend Drug, Drug Paraphernalia-Possession, and Prescription Not in Proper Container.

 

All three offenders are lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.

 

  1. On Friday, January 13, 2023, at 5:40pm, Deputy Joe Witherspoon arrested C.J. Gates (40) of Eddyville and charged him with a Lyon Circuit Court bench warrant for Contempt of Court. He was lodged in the Crittenden County Detention Center.

 

 

  1. On Friday, January 13, 2023, at 8:24pm, Deputy David Carroll arrested Jordan L. Fritz (35) of Kuttawa and charged him with a Caldwell District Court bench warrant for Non-payment of Child Support and a Hopkins District Court complaint warrant for Contempt of Court for non-payment of Child Support. He was turned over to the Lyon County Jailer.
