Lady Marshals, Coach Holder earn first win

After two very close losses to open the season, both by three points and one game going to overtime, the Lady Marshals notched one in the win column Tuesday in their 44-23 win over Hickman County and earned Head Coach Jimmie Holder his first win.

Eleven players scored in the win led by senior Mia Teague with eight points. Teague hit a 3-pointer in both the first and second quarters to help lead the Lady Marshals to a 24-16 halftime lead. Two more threes in the third quarter came from Laken Schroader and Harli English to help stretch the lead to 39-16 while holding Hickman County to zero points in the quarter on their way to win by 21.

The Lady Marshals went 10-of-16 at the free throw line, led by Peyton Weitlauf who hit 3-of-4. Senior Anna Howell led Hickman County;s scoring with eight points.

A double header with the Marshals at Graves County is up next on Friday with a 6:00 tip off time.
