Cross Country team wraps regular season at Daviess County Classic

Senior Ethan McCarty finished 21st at Saturday’s Daviess County Classic in a huge field of 329 for the boy’s 5K race.

Coach Chris Kerrick was thrilled with his cross-country team’s performance at Saturday’s Daviess County Classic after everyone turned in personal records, for the year and overall.

“We are now headed into regionals with a huge confidence booster and they all see they are capable of doing more”, said Kerrick. “Saturday was a great finish to the regular season.”

Addison Lyles crossed the finish line in 19th in 20:16.6 for the top performance from the girls’ team in the field of 212.

The boys top result came from Ethan McCarty with 21st place in 16:51.4 among a field of 329 at the start line.

Individual wins came from Abby Overbay from South Warren with a time of 18:54.5 and Brendan Nagle from John Hardin in 15:48.4. Winning teams were South Warren girls and Apollo boys.

Marshall County will host the regional meet on October 22.
