The Marshals are off to a 2-0 start to the 2022 football season after Friday’s 54-6 win over Fulton County. They amassed nearly 400 yards in total offense, 307 rushing and 74 in passing. Kameron Bowerman led the way with 120 yards on seven carries and the senior scored four touchdowns.

Conner Nix threw for 74 yards and was 3-of-7 along with one touchdown. Jacob Wilson caught two of those passes for a total of 61 yards and a touchdown.

They held Fulton County to 29 yards rushing but the Pilots picked up 184 yards through the air. Max Gibbs was 11-for-30 and threw one touchdown pass to Charles Goodman who was his leading target, picking up 106 yards on three catches and scored their only touchdown.

It was Bowerman that put the first points up for the Marshals and the score was 7-0 at the end of the first quarter. Bowerman scored again from 22 yards out following an interception of the Pilots by Parker Gibbs. Landon Utley scored on a 28-yard run to put the Marshals up 20-0 and a touchdown pass from Nix to Wilson put 27 points on the board.

Aiden Dunigan was the third player to score for the Marshals to extend their lead to 34-0 where it stood at halftime.

Bowerman scored his third touchdown of the game on a 33-yard run to put the Marshals up 41-0. Fulton County avoided the shutout with the touchdown throw from Gibbs to Goodman early in the fourth quarter.

An interception by Gavin Clark set the Marshals up for another touchdown, this time scored by Jackson Mahmet. Bowerman scored his fourth touchdown and the final time in the endzone for the Marshals at the close of the game to duplicate their 54 points in last Friday’s season opener over Ballard Memorial.

Following Bowerman in rushing, Utley had 10 carries for 109 yards and Dunigan picked up 55 yards on five carries. Logan Parker was 7-for-8 in point after attempts. Utley and Joe Gaudy led in tackles with six each, Bowerman and Carter Beliles had five a piece and Mahmet and Dylan Robinson four each.

They will head to Northpoint Christian (1-1) in Southaven, Miss. next Friday. The Marshals fell 42-7 to Northpoint Christian in last year’s third game of the season.
