PADUCAH, Ky. (August 12, 2022) – A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) plans milling and paving at three locations in Marshall County starting on Monday, August 15, 2022.
Motorists should be alert for milling and paving at the following locations:
KY 58/Mayfield Highway
Starting at the Marshall-Graves County Line at mile point 0.0, extending eastward to the KY 402 intersection at Brewers, a distance of 2.15 miles. Motorists traveling between Mayfield and Benton may avoid delays in this work zone by taking a self-detour via I-69.
U.S. 641/Benton-Hardin Road
Starting at the KY 402 R-Cut Intersection at mile point 1.224, extending northward to the 3-mile marker near the Union Hill Road intersection, a distance of 1.77 miles.
U.S. 641-Spur/Benton-Hardin Road
Starting at the U.S. 641 intersection at mile point 0.0, extending northward to mile point 1.32 near Hitte Road, a distance of 1.32 miles.
Some delays are possible during the movement and placement of equipment to facilitate the work.
Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and paving personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.
Jim Smith Contracting, LLC, of Grand Rivers is the prime contractor on this $1,776,742 highway improvement project. The target completion date is September 15, 2022.
