Lady Marshals shut out Paducah Tilghman 11-0

Gracelyn Darnall’s throw to first in time to get an out on Paducah Tilghman’s Audreya White in the top of the third inning.

The Lady Marshals shut out Paducah Tilghman in a home game on Thursday. The win went to Gracelyn Darnall who pitched the first four innings, allowing four hits.

Chloe Coursey reached base with a single in the bottom of the first then Allicen Harris brought her in on a single for a 1-0 lead. Four runs in the second inning were scored on doubles by Thorpe and Marin Oakley, a run scored on a ground out by Anna Vasseur and a single by Coursey who brought in Pursley who reached base on a double.

The lead was 6-0 in the third after Emma McReynolds, running for Darnall who doubled, scored when Thorpe reached first on an error.

Pursley led off with a bunt in the fourth, brought in for the run on a hit by Coursey. Harris and Madyson Morton earned RBIs to make it a 9-0 game and the final two run came across on Thorpe’s single

The Lady Marshals play four games over two days in this weekend’s Greenwood Border Battle in Bowling Green. Friday at 6:30 they play Greenwood (18-3) followed by Christian Academy-Louisville (13-8). Saturday begins with a 10:00 am game against Boyle County (11-7) and at noon will meet Bowling Green (8-5).
