
Back on the playing field after Spring Break, the CFS Lady Eagles split games last week. They fell 10-0 to Mayfield in the Region 1 All “A” Tournament on Friday but followed it up with an 18-2 win over Fort Campbell and their record improves to 5-3.
In Friday’s game, CFS trailed 1-0 after two innings but a big 5-run bottom of the third by Mayfield was followed by two runs in each of the next two innings to earn the 10-0 win on 11 hits. CFS struggled to get any hits off of Mayfield’s Jo Jo Fox who earned the 5-inning no-hitter while striking out seven. Fox was also big at the plate for Mayfield, hitting a double and home run.

The Lady Eagles traveled to Fort Campbell and made quick work of Falcons in their 3-inning 18-2 win that came on 11 hits. Jayden Jackson led at the plate with three hits and an RBI. Four players had two hits each including Renee Shield who also hit a triple, Rhema Howard with a double, Kyndal Owen with a double and Madie Siebert. Cate Colburn and Owen had three RBIs a piece. Jackson struck out five on her way to picking up the win, allowing two hits and two runs.
