The Marshall County Public Library will celebrate the first Tater Day in two years by hosting its first ever Potato Book Character Contest and setting up a booth with library activities at the event itself on April 2.
Children’s Librarian Sara Dittman said the program is open to participants of all ages, not just children.
“We are really getting in the spirit of Tater Day this year,” Dittman said. “Those who want to participate just need to turn a potato into their favorite book character and drop it off at any branch. The potato book characters will be on display at all three branches, too, so be sure to stop by and check them out.”
Potato characters can be dropped off March 29-31. Voting will be in-house and online on the library’s Facebook page from April 2-5. Winners will be contacted on April 6 and will receive a special trophy.
In addition to the contest, the library will also set up a booth/table with activities at Tater Day on April 2.
