Mike was born Sunday, July 14, 1957 in Benton, KY to Martha Katherine (Breezeel) Coursey and Thomas Leland Coursey. He worked in industrial maintenance for United State Enrichment Corporation in West Paducah, KY and later retired from Gerdau Ameristeel in Calvert City, KY. He was a member of the United Steel Workers Local 727 and was a long time member of the Benton Elks Lodge in Benton. Mike was a loving son, father, grandfather, brother, and a friend to many. He will be deeply missed by his family and his many friends.
Mike is survived by his mother, Martha Katherine Coursey, of Benton; his daughter, Mikala Foster (Deangelo) of Kirksey, KY; sons, Tyler Coursey (Alison) of Benton, Ricky Freeman (Ami), of Palma, KY; a sister, Mickie Vecera of Lynchburg, VA; a half-brother, Danny Coursey (Tammy) of Calvert City, KY; grandchildren, Miles Morgan, Lennox Foster, Silas Coursey, and Tripp Freeman.
Mike was preceded in death by his father and his brother, Rick Coursey.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th Street, Benton, KY.
Interment will follow the service at the Ford Cemetery, Benton, KY.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 14, 2021 at Collier Funeral Home.
The family requests that those attending visitation and service wear masks.
