Vernon E. Cotton, 72

Vernon E. Cotton, 72, passed away Saturday, December 18, 2021 at the Countryside Nursing and Rehabilitation facility.

Mr. Cotton was born on October 3, 1949 to Clyde and Virginia Cotton in Tomato, Arkansas. He was proud to have served in the United States Airforce and later was the Chief Commander of the VFW in Bardwell, Kentucky. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed watching sports and playing the guitar.

Mr. Cotton is survived by three nieces: Patricia (Andrew) Weaks, Pamela (Michael) Cargill, and Debra (Josh) Schlesselman; one brother: Billy Cotton; four step-children: Tonya Ann Cotton, Steven Cotton, Robert Godsey, and Wayne Jackson; many nieces and nephews; three great nieces and five great nephews.

Mr. Cotton was preceded in death by both of his parents; his wife, Freda Joyce (Hawkins) Cotton; his sister, Ann Thompson; and his brother, John Cotton.

Funeral Services will be held at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at 1:00 P.M with Bro. David Dixon officiating. Burial will follow after the service at Roselawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell.
