Eagles 2-2, open 4th District play Friday at Calloway County

CFS is off to a 2-2 start after their season-opening win over Dawson Springs was followed by a loss to Fulton County, win over Foundation Christian Academy and loss to Crittenden County.

Friday at Fulton County, the Eagles led at the end of the end of each of the first three quarters – but the Pilots blew it open in the fourth quarter, out-scoring CFS 22-10 to pick up the 63-56 win. Andrew Dunning led all scorers with 20 points along with 16 rebounds. Luke Grigg also recorded the double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds.

The Eagles followed Friday’s loss with a 73-30 win over Foundation Christian Academy in a home game on Saturday. Three players were in double-figures led again by Dunning with 25 points, Luke Grigg with 11 and Bryce Cary 10.

Tuesday, the Eagles hosted Crittenden County and fell to the Rockets 70-52 after a hard-fought four quarters. Dunning scored 19 and Hovekamp 13 to lead CFS. Through the first four games, Dunning is averaging 22 points per game.

Crittenden County was led by Travis Champion with 20 points, Preston Morgeson with 15 and Trace Derrington with 11.

CFS will open district play on Friday when they travel to Calloway County (2-2) for a 7:30 game. Saturday they will play at Hickman County (2-1) at 4:30.
