Born Thursday, April 12, 1928 in Hope, AR, she was the daughter of the late Frank Lee Chism and the late Mary Elizabeth (Bradford) Chism. She was the wife of the late Jasper Frank Watkins.
She was a retired worker with Automatic Electric and was a member of New Zion Baptist Church.
Mrs. Watkins is survived by her son, Danny Watkins of Cherokee, KS, daughters, Peggy Rice of Corning, AR, Geraldine Inman of Winfield, AL and Donna Lyshik of Stevens Point, WI, brother, Clyde Chism of Benton, KY, sisters, Adele Gresham of GA, Charlene Tedford of Columbus, MS, Clair Howard of Benton, KY and Dorothy Light of Oklahoma City, OK; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and 22 great great-grandchildren. Also, surviving are several nieces and nephews..
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers, Charles Chism, William Chism, John Chism and Lee Chism, sisters, Minnie Aline Hicks, Helen Ruth Sporleter, Elizabeth Pitts, Vera Mae Jackson and Lela McGarrity.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, November 18, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home, Benton, KY with Rev. Dale Taylor officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Marshall Co. Memory Gardens, Benton, KY.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, KY.
