Mark Elmer Kopecky, age 70, of Bardwell, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2021 at his home in Bardwell.

Mark was born on July 28, 1951 to Robert Donald and Grace Ellen Kopecky. He retired from Westvaco Paper Mill as a security guard. Mark served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He served as an EMT and a firefighter for the city of Bardwell and the Carlisle County departments. For over 30 years, Mark participated in American Civil War and World War II reenactments. In fact, he was influential in bringing these reenactments into the Western Kentucky area. Marks most enjoyable hobby was fishing with his son.

Mark is survived by his wife, Mary Lango Kopecky of Bardwell; one son, Matthew Kopecky and wife, Melissa of Calvert City; three sisters, Martha Kopecky of Glenside, Pennsylvania, Mary Smith and husband, Steve of Lake Arrowhead, California, and Bobbie Decker and husband, Mike of Port St. Lucie, Florida; and one brother, Mike Kopecky and wife, Cherie of Chino Hill, California.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Trudy Steinbeck Kopecky.

No services are planned at this time.
