Kent was born on September 30, 1964 in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida to Howard Nelson Powel and Linda Finney Powel. He enjoyed bass and deep-sea fishing and watching football. Kent loved his grandson immensely.
Kent is survived by one son, Kent Powel Jr. of Paducah; one sister, Kimberly Davis (Trin) of Paducah; one brother, Steve Powel (Jennifer Camel-Tuoeg) of Florida; one grandson, Hunter Powel; mother, Linda Powel; three nieces, Brooke Seitzinger (Johnathan), Olivia Powel, Lola Powel; four nephews, Landon Davis (Hallie), Alex Camel-Tuoeg, Gabriel Camel-Tuoeg, Jason Marriott (Krystal).
