Deon was born in Marion, Kentucky on November 3, 1947 to Marvin P. and Helen Tinsley Belt. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was a member of Southland Baptist Temple. Deon enjoyed yardwork and was the family weatherman. He made sure everyone knew the weather, down to the dewpoint, at all times. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Deon is survived by his wife of 35 years, Janet Langston Belt; one son, Brad Belt (Robyn) of Paducah; one daughter, Brandy Hawkins (Shelby) of Louisville; two sisters, Christine Smith (David) of Paducah, Imogene Shoulta (John) of Bloomington, Illinois; one brother, Wayne Belt (JoAnn) of West Paducah; six grandchildren, Whitney Belt, Austin Belt, Nora Hawkins, Isabella Hawkins, Jacob Hawkins, Emma Hawkins.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Paducah with Rev. Jimmy Franks officiating.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Paducah.
