Timothy “Timmy” Shannon Washington was born on November 27, 1967, in Graves County, KY to Harry and Charleta Jones Washington. He departed this life on Sunday, September 5, 2021 at Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield, KY.
He was a member of St. James AME Church in Pryorsburg, KY. He received his GED before being employed by the City of Mayfield. He was currently employed by Hines Furlong Line, formerly Hunter Marine, for over 25 years as a Jr. Engineer.
Mr. Washington is survived by his fiancee, Sadie Carr of McCombs, MS; his brothers, Mark Washington of Mayfield, KY and Dwayne (Bernadine) Washington of New Braunfels, TX; two uncles, Ridley (Angela) Jones of Dayton, OH and Wille Avent, Sr. of Mayfield, KY; two aunts, Earlie M Jones of Paducah, KY and Gwendolyn Garmon of Marion, IN; one niece, Jordan Washington of New Braunfels, TX; many loving cousins; and a host of other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Charleta Jones Washington.
Funeral services for Mr. Timothy “Timmy” Shannon Washington will be 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY. Rev. Greg Hussey will officiate. Interment will follow at New Bethel Cemetery in Pryorsburg, KY.
Pallbearers will be Mikey Rutherford, Keith Doss, Willard Jones and Willie Avent, Jr. Friends of the family will be flowerbearers.
Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
