
Levi Mathis, age 88, passed away at 12:53 a.m. Saturday, September 4, 2021 at his home. Levi attended a Christian Non-Denominational Church. Levi was a long time plumbing contractor in McCracken County, Graves County and Lone Oak area. He had a keen interest in antique tractors, but the antique, John Deere always caught his attention. Levi was the last surviving child in a family of 13 children. He enjoyed his garden and sharing his vegetables with friends.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Jean Marie Dycus Mathis; one daughter, Vickie (Robert) Poat of Paducah; Timothy Lee (Leslie) Mathis and James “Jimmy” David (Christina) Mathis, both of Melber, KY; son-in-law, Steve Key, Melber; five grandchildren, Adam (Amanda) Mathis, Kyle (Tammie) Poat, Chris Poat and friend (Ashlee Bryan) Jacob (Alysia) Mathis and Caitie Mathis; five great-grandchildren, Austin Poat, Zachary Poat, Zane Poat, Levi David Mathis and Olivia Rheil; several nieces and nephews.
Preceding in death were his parents, James Morgan Mathis and Candace Womble Mathis; one daughter, Cathryn Sue Mathis Key; six sisters, Ruth, Ada, Geneva, Mary, Hazel and Wanda; six brothers, Harry, Delbert, Walter, James, Sam and Ben Mathis.
Services will be held Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Darin Jensen and Robert Bishop officiating. Burial will follow at Owens Chapel Cemtery in Melber, KY. Visitation will beheld Tuesday, September 7, 2021 from 11:00 am until service time of 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home
