Sammy Lindsey, 80, of Hopkinsville, KY died at 12:27 a.m. Friday, September 3, 2021 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center.

A native of Calvert City, KY he was born August 1, 1941 the son of the late John Clyde Lindsey and Mary Ann Pugh Lindsey. He was a retired journeyman electrician for TVA. Following his retirement from TVA, he went on to work and retire from Hopkinsville Electric Systems. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, worked with multimedia equipment, and drove the church bus.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years: Gracie Lindsey; his sons: Derrick Leon (Amanda) Lindsey of La Plata, MD and Brian Dwayne Lindsey of Alexandria, VA; and his grandchildren: Robert Samuel Lindsey, Richard Thomas Lindsey, Emiline Lindsey, and Easton Lindsey.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister: Virginia Lindsey; and his brothers: Larry Wayne Lindsey and Terry Allen Lindsey.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 6, 2021 at Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Stokes officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral hour. Hughart, Beard & Giles Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Monday, September 6, 2021 at Fooks Cemetery in Benton, KY with the Rev. Mike Stokes officiating. Filbeck-Cann Funeral Home of Milner & Orr in charge of arrangements.
