Joining WCBL for Coffee Call recently was Elena Blevins, the director of the Kentucky Lake Convention and Visitors Bureau. She said the summer tourist season is winding down, but the fishing is still good and the lakes are still busy. Blevins says one thing she would like to see more of is events for the fall when the temperatures are cooler and the colors are beautiful. One event coming up soon is the Lone Star Rodeo August 27th & 28h at H.H. Lovett Benton City Park. The rodeo begins at 8 each night, and you can get tickets by calling Benton City Hall or going to lonestarrodeocompany.com. And Blevins said she is happy to report the economic impact numbers for 2020 held fairly steady, despite the pandemic. The economic impact for the lakes area was 45 million in 2020, and almost 665 million for the region as a whole, second only to the Louisville-Lexington area.
