Mrs. Phyllis McClain Canter, age 82, of Mayfield passed away on Monday, August 9, 2021 at her residence.
She was a member of Northside Church of Christ in Mayfield, KY.
Mrs. Canter is survived by three sons, Dennis Canter of Richmond, KY, Barry Canter of Glendale, AZ and Kevin (Marilyn) Canter of Boaz, KY; four daughters, Aletha (Robert) Kemp, Teresa (Steve) Halsell, Cindy (Keith) Allred and Tracy (Jason) Fitzgerald all of Mayfield, KY; two brothers, Ronnie “Skinny” (Donna) McClain of Mayfield, KY and Robert “Bob” (Ann) McClain of Sedalia, KY; one sister, Vickie (David) Lamb of Mayfield, KY; twelve grandchildren; and eighteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Canter; two brothers, Frank McClain and Roger McClain; and her parents, Forrest and Pauline Adams McClain.
Funeral services for Mrs. Phyllis McClain Canter will be 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 13, 2021 at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY. Chris Kemp and Tyler Wunderlich will officiate. Interment will follow at Spring Creek Church of Christ Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Michael Kemp, Jon Kyle Allred, Collin Fitzgerald, Jordan Canter, Clint Reed, Nathan Lamb and Nic Humphrey. Honorary pallbearers will be Kacie Kemp, Brittaney Halsell, Cori Reed, Heather Gardner, Alexa Gilliam, Caitlyn Turner, Torie Fitzgerald and Jill Flynn.
Visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at the funeral home.
