Kenny was born in Murray, KY on October 24, 1948 to the late Raymond Dwight and Audrey Adair Vasseur. Kenny graduated from Benton High School in May 1967 before he and Patricia married on June 15, 1968. Kenny was drafted and entered the Army in April 1969. Kenny also received an associates degree while he was in the army. He worked as a nuclear weapons maintenance officer. He was stationed at multiple military bases in locations including but not limited to: Fort Knox in Kentucky; the Presidio in San Francisco, California; Albuquerque, New Mexico; Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama; Fort Lewis in Tacoma, Washington; and Atlanta, Georgia. Kenny and his wife served together and spent 15 years at several different bases and installations in West Germany during the height of the Cold War years. He traveled often with the NATO Nuclear Weapons Maintenance Team. In 1989, Kenny retired from the Army as a Chief Warrant Officer CW3 after proudly serving over 20 years. Kenny was highly decorated and received numerous military awards and accommodations for his service to his country.

Kenny was a fun loving person that enjoyed being spontaneous and adventurous. He enjoyed traveling, playing tennis, cooking meals, singing with his family and friends, and dancing with his wife. More than anything Kenny was a loving and devoted husband, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and a special friend. All will say that Kenny left this world way too soon.

Kenny is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patricia Ann Ray Vasseur; two brothers, Keith Vasseur (Irena) of Gallatin, TN and Kerry Vasseur (Amber) of Murray, KY; his sister, Glenda Kay Elkins (Steve) of Murray, KY; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
