Mr. John W. Killala, 80 of Gilbertsville, KY, died on Sunday, June 20, 2021, at Marshall County Hospital, Benton, KY. He was a retired police officer for Highland Park, MI and was a veteran of the US Navy. He loved his family dearly, and his hobbies included boating, fishing, traveling, woodworking, and reading.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Farley) Killala of Gilbertsville, KY, son, Sean Killala, wife Jeanine of Virginia, daughter, Kelli Crawford, husband Michael of Gilbertsville, KY, brother, Tom Killala, wife Bonnie of Henderson, NV, grandchildren, Mitchell (Amber) Killala, Gabriel Killala, Ireland (James) Marte, Erin Crawford, Abigail Killala, and great-grandchildren, Evie Rose, Lyric, Keagan, Marci, Gideon, and Eliyah.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John F. and Elizabeth Janet (Langdon) Killala, and brother, George Stokes.

Graveside funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Roseland Park Cemetery, Berkley, MI.

Visitation will be held at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th Street, Benton, KY 42025 on Thursday, June 24, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Additional visitation will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021 from 12:00 noon to 2:30 p.m. at WM Sullivan and Son Funeral Home, 705 W. Eleven Mile Road, Royal Oak, MI, 48067.
