Mrs. Vada Mae Gilbert, age 95 of Benton, KY died on Thursday, February 4, 2021, at Superior Care Home in Paducah, KY. She was a retired operator for 3A Composites and was a member of Zion’s Cause Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Eastern Star in Smithland, KY.
Born Friday, May 1, 1925 in Trigg County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Calvin Littlejohn and the late Mary Ann ( Lane) Littlejohn.
Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Harold Gilbert of Benton, KY, Scarlett Littlejohn, great-niece and caregiver, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Scarlet Mae Brown, brothers, Earnie Littlejohn, Frank Littlejohn, Ed Littlejohn, Howard Littlejohn and Wallace Littlejohn, sisters, Flora Downing, Mary Lou Nelson, Syble Poindexter, Peggy Belcaster, and 2 nieces, 1 great-niece, and 1 great-great-nephew.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th Street, Benton, KY 42025.
Interment will follow in the Smithland Cemetery, Smithland, KY.
Visitation will be held between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 7, 2021.
