Lady Marshals set new school record in win at The Joy of Golf Invitational

With a school record low of score of 291 on Saturday, the Lady Marshals won The Joy of Golf Invitational at Wild Turkey Trace Golf Club in Anderson County.

They were led in scoring by Trinity Beth who shot 1-under par 70 to give her fourth place overall. Megan Hertter finished sixth with 1-over par 72, Savannah Howell shot 74 for ninth place, Katie Roberts shot 75 for to take 11th and Elsie Riley finished 29th with 87.

The win came by two strokes over Lexington Christian Academy with 293 and third went to Shelby county with 317. Medalist honors went to Whitefield Academy’s Jenna Estravillo who finished with a 3-under par 68. Mary Keene Marrs of Lexington Christian Academy also shot 68 and took second in a scorecard playoff.

The Lady Marshals have now won five of the six tournaments they have played in this season. They will play matches this week at Mayfield and Calvert City before Saturday’s Bluegrass Invitational at Heritage Hill Golf Course in Shepherdsville.
