Kara Wilson, 38

Kara Beth Adair Wilson, age 38, went to be with her Lord and savior Jesus Christ at 10:13 a.m. Friday, August 7, 2020 at Marshall County Hospital.

Kara was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church, where she attended her entire life. Kara was a graduate of Marshall County High School where she played softball and basketball. After high school, Kara earned a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Kentucky College of Engineering. She was employed by the Kentucky Department of Transportation where she served District 1 as a drainage engineer. She was also a member of the Johnathan Creek Water Board.

Kara excelled at everything. Never backing away from a challenge, she would work at anything she was interested in until reaching near perfection. Full of life and love, Kara adored her three sons, she was a wonderful mother, daughter, sister and aunt. She was a strong, brave, beautiful, confident person that always put her family first; characteristics earned through perseverance and manifested throughout her life, especially during her two-year battle with cancer. While she did not fully realize the impact she made through her struggle, Kara’s life positively influenced and will continue to positively influence the lives of so many people. Our hearts are heavy in her absence, but praise be to God that Kara is now fully healed and we live with the assurance that we will see her again one day.

Kara is survived by her husband, Ryan Wilson of Fairdealing; three sons, Sebastian, Lincoln and Pierce; parents, Benny and Glenda Adair, brother Scott Adair and wife Laken; sister Kristi Adair, all of Calvert City; Grandmother, Lorene Barnes of Benton; and two nieces, Ayla and Everly Adair (Scott and Laken).

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Sandy and Opal Adair and John Edd Barnes.
