Delays Possible along U.S. 62 Work Zone in Western McCracken County on Thursday & Friday, June 18 & 19

PADUCAH, Ky. (June 17, 2020) — A contractor responsible for utility work along a section of U.S. 62/Blandville Road in western McCracken County is expected to create some extended traffic delays on Thursday and Friday, June 18 & 19, 2020.

This work zone for utility work along U.S. 62/Blandville Road west of Paducah runs from mile point 7.8 near the traffic signal at the McCracken Boulevard intersection extending eastward to the KY 998/Olivet Church Road intersection at mile point 8.8.

While much of the utility work has been along the right-of-way with minimal impact on traffic flow, the contractor has a number of equipment and supply deliveries planned for Thursday afternoon and during the day on Friday. The equipment and supplies will be off-loaded near the 8.5 mile point near the Massac Creek Bridge within the work zone.

Some extended delays may be required to facilitate these deliveries. Flaggers will control traffic flow during the off-loading process.

Motorists who wish to avoid the anticipated delays in this work zone should consider a self-detour via U.S. 62 and KY 305 on Thursday afternoon and during the day Friday.
