Class of 2020 – Isaac York

Isaac competed in the sprinting events and was entering his fourth season with the Marshall County track and field team. Coach Andrew Johnston said Isaac continually showed growth as a sprinter improving his 100 , 200 and 400 meter times over all four years.

Isaac won the most improved award last season and opened up his indoor season breaking his previous 400 meter time by almost a second.

According to Coach Johnston, “I’m going to miss Isaac so much. His personality and work ethic are unparalleled. There wasn’t a practice where he wasn’t making someone laugh. Isaac was one of the kids who really got it, though. It never mattered who he was racing or what event. He knew what he wanted and wasn’t going to let anyone else dictate his race or workout. It’s guys like that who really succeed out here on the track—the ones who always run their race and nothing matters outside of their lane. The team will be poorer without his presence.”

Isaac plans to attend the University of Kentucky and study communications.
