Mr. Joseph Martin Hargrove, age 94, of Mayfield passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2020 at Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah, KY.
He was a longtime member of Northside Church of Christ, a present member of Lone Oak Church of Christ, a Kentucky Colonel, a retired superintendent of West KY Rural Electric and a U.S. Navy WWII veteran.
Mr. Hargrove is survived by three sons, Tom (Diane) Hargrove of Paducah, KY, Gary (Debbie) Hargrove of Mayfield, KY and Jimmy (Lisa) Hargrove of Mayfield, KY; one sister, Jessie Mae Scott of The Villages, FL; four grandchildren, Kim Carper of Paducah, KY, Jay Hargrove of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Brent Hargrove of Mayfield, KY and Nicki Short of Mayfield, KY; and three great grandchildren, Kailey Carper of Paducah, KY, Taylor Hargrove of Mayfield, KY and Tinley Grace Hargrove of Mt. Pleasant, SC.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Shelton Hargrove; two brothers, James Rudolph Hargrove and John Richard Hargrove; and his parents, Joseph Ezra and Juliet McCuiston Hargrove.
Funeral services for Mr. Joseph Martin Hargrove will be 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY. Bro. Paul Wingfield and George Glover will officiate. Graveside military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post #26. Entombment will follow at Highland Park Mausoleum.
Pallbearers will be Jay Hargrove, Brent Hargrove, Rickie Satterwhite, Jerry Shelton, Kevin Carper, Cole Massa and Jonathan Short. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Satterwhite, Kim Carper, Taylor Hargrove, Nicki Short, Kailey Carper, Jnanda Hargrove, Tinley Grace Hargrove and Tricia Hargrove.
Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at the funeral home.
