Online registry helps to notify family in emergency situations.

Help give your family peace of mind as you travel. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) online emergency contact registry allows law enforcement officials to quickly contact your family if you are involved in a serious vehicle crash or emergency situation.

KYTC teamed up with Kentucky State Police (KSP) and the Department of Criminal Justice Training (DOCJT) to encourage Kentuckians to designate a preferred contact using the free, voluntary service. It allows law enforcement to access emergency contacts through your driver’s license information.

It can become a valuable tool to expedite communication between first responders and a driver’s loved ones when time is of the essence during an emergency.

Kentuckians can enter their emergency contact information via the Emergency Notice portal on the drive.ky.gov website.

The contact information is integrated into the cardholder’s driving record, accessible only to law enforcement officials for emergency purposes.

The service is available only to valid Kentucky cardholders, and users will be required to input their license number, date of birth, first and last name to verify their information. Kentuckians may submit one contact. The contact or information may be changed at any time.

Once submitted, the information is available the same day to law enforcement dispatchers.

Go to https://apps.transportation.ky.gov/emergencynotice/ to enter your information.

Kentuckians with limited internet access may call KYTC at 502-564-1257 or provide emergency contact information in-person at the Circuit Court Clerk office in their home county.
