On Thursday, May 16, 2019, Kentucky’s 42nd Judicial Circuit (the Marshall and Calloway county court system) will host its 3rd annual “Justice Conference.” Started in 2017 by Marshall and Calloway Circuit Judge, Jamie Jameson, the event brings together law enforcement agencies, attorneys, and others who work in the regional justice system for the purpose of developing unity and cohesion in our local courts and associated systems.
Over 100 attorneys, law enforcement, DOC employees, and numerous others are expected to attend the event where they will hear presenters from all across Kentucky speak on various educational subjects relevant to law enforcement and the justice system.
In attendance this year and receiving recognition for his work toward making Kentucky a forward-thinking justice state will be Kentucky’s Justice & Public Safety Cabinet Secretary, John Tilley.
“We are so excited that this event is in its third year and still growing,” said Judge Jamie Jameson. “We are thrilled to host Secretary Tilley and many other prestigious presenters and attendees this year. Their presence is a commentary on the significance of this event.” Jameson continued.
“This year and last, we opened up the event to agencies and lawyers outside of Marshall & Calloway counties. Dozens of attorneys from Marshall, Calloway, McCracken, Graves, and other counties will be in attendance as well as members of every Marshall and Calloway County law enforcement agency and police agencies from outside our circuit. Thanks to the help of everyone that volunteers their time to make this happen, it’s an unprecedented event,” said Jameson.
The annual Justice Conference is the only event of its kind in Kentucky hosted by a local court system. The event is sponsored by the Marshall and Calloway County bar associations.
