Marshall County KY Sheriff’s Office Weekly Report

On 04-17-2019 Deputy R. Johnson was dispatched to a parking lot where a female operator was slumped over the wheel with the engine running. Deputy Johnson opened the drivers door and the operator woke up. Contact was made with operator Ms. Samantha Sharp. The odor of alcoholic beverage and marijuana could be smelled from inside the car. As a result of the investigation Sharp was charged and arrested for DUI 1st offence, possession of open alcohol container, possession of marijuana, & drug paraphernalia.

On 04-17-2019 at 1: 10 AM, Deputy Howell was dispatched to a suspicious male walking on U.S. Hwy 68 West. Deputy Howell made contact with a male identified as Mr. Michael Cursey. As a result of the investigation, Cursey was deemed under the influence of an intoxicating substance. Cursey was charged and arrested for public intoxication.

On 04-18-2019 at 03:35 AM Deputy Spears was dispatched to the intersection of Olive Creek Road & U.S. Hwy 68 East. The caller advised that the operator had their head down and was not moving. Once Deputies got the operator awake she was identified as Ms. Daisy Josleyn. As a result of the investigation, Josleyn was charged and arrested for DUI 1st offense, possession of marijuana, possession of controlled substance 1st degree, 1st offense (methamphetamine), and failure to produce insurance card.

On 04-18-2019 Sgt. Curtner was notified by another deputy in an unmarked vehicle that Mr. David B. Miller was currently operating a vehicle and was know to have a suspended operators license. Sgt. Curtner conducted a traffic stop on Miller. As a result of the stop Miller was charged and arrested for operating on a suspended or revoked operators license, failure to maintain required insurance, failure to register transfer of motor vehicle, trafficking in controlled substance 1st degree 1st offence (> or = 2 grams methamphetamine), & drug paraphernalia.

On 04-20-2019 Deputy Johnson was dispatched to Walmart to assist Officer DeShields with Benton PD in reference to a shoplifter complaint. Caller stated that the suspect, Mr. Ryan Jarvis was becoming a problem. During the incident Deputy R. Johnson observed Jarvis lunge at the loss prevention employee. Jarvis was instructed to settle down and be quiet. Jarvis began to curse and scream in the presence of other shoppers. Jarvis was arrested and charged with menacing, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest.

On 04-20-2019 deputies were dispatched to Hardin on a disturbance call. Caller stated there were two females fighting in someone’s yard. On arrival deputies identified Ms. Carol Erwin and Ms. Miranda Lee. As a result of the investigation Erwin was charged and arrested for alcohol intoxication in a public place and possession of marijuana. Lee was cited for possession of marijuana.

On 04-20-2019, Deputy Z. Johnson responded to a collision on U.S. Hwy 641 northbound in front of Lee Block. On arrival, he made contact with Mr. Jesse Bennett. Deputy Johnson could smell the odor of marijuana coming from his person. Deputy Johnson also observed a clear baggie of suspected marijuana in Bennett’s front shirt pocket. Bennett was cited to court due to receiving medical treatment of injuries. He was cited for DUI 1st offense, failure to produce insurance card, and possession of marijuana.

On 04-21-2019, deputies were dispatched to the 3900 block of Griggstown Road in reference to a collision. The vehicle had left the roadway, ran through a lawn and struck a garage. Contact was made with the operator Mr. Brice Alexander. As a result of the investigation Alexander was charged and arrested for DUI 1st offense.

On 04-23-2019 at approximately 12:30 noon deputies were dispatched to Houser Road in reference to a collision. It was reported that the vehicle almost hit another vehicle head on, exited a bridge, and landed in a creek. Deputy Peck identified and made contact with the operator Ms. Suzanne Edwards. It’s reported that she was unsteady on her feet and had slurred speech. Edwards admitted to Deputy Peck that she had consumed shots earlier this morning. Edwards refused field sobriety tests. She was arrested and charged with DUI 1st offence.

On 04-24-2019 at around 03:35 deputies were dispatched to U.S. Hwy 68 E on a male walking on the highway. Upon making contact Deputy Strader identified the man as Mr. Kyle Stanley. Stanley was unsteady on his feet & appeared to be under the influence. As a result of the contact with Stanley he was arrested and charged with public intoxication-controlled substance.

On 04-23-2019 at approximately11:44 AM deputies were dispatched to the 4800 block of Eggners Ferry Road in reference to a single car collision. Deputy Peck conducted an investigation of the collision. It appears that the operator Mr. Troy H. Redmond was traveling west bound and for unknown reasons dropped his vehicle off the shoulder of the roadway. It appears Mr. Redmond then overcorrected causing the vehicle to roll over several times where Mr. Redmond was ejected from the vehicle. Mr. Redmond was treated and transported to Marshall County Hospital by Marshall County EMS where he succumbed to injuries sustained in the collision. Deputy Peck was assisted by Deputy Oakley and Deputy Rowley. Fairdealing Olive Fire Department also responded to the scene.

On 04-24-2019 Marshall County Sheriff’s Office arrested Kamiah Timpe on a federal arrest warrant for drug offenses. Detectives with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office received information that a federal arrest warrant was active for Kamiah Timpe (39 years old) for trafficking in methamphetamine. Detectives received information Timpe was staying in the Brown Gable Apartment complex in Benton, Ky. Detectives made contact with Timpe and arrested him without incident. Timpe was transported to the Federal Courthouse in Paducah, Ky.
