Mrs. Virginia Bandarra, 100, of Murray passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at Spring Creek Health Care.
Mrs. Bandarra was born in Ignacio, CA on December 9, 1918 to the late John and Mary Lopez Azevedo. She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Murray. Virginia was active in bible study with members of the community and she loved to sing. Virginia was known for being a bit feisty, with a sense of humor and always had a comeback. She enjoyed music and dancing as demonstrated in her young years when she, her sister and mother would play and sing at local Portuguese festivals and perform on local radio stations in California. Her real love was assisting people who desired to know more about the bible and God’s name, “Jehovah” (Psalm 83:18). She will be missed by all.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Bandarra; eight brothers and seven sisters.
She is survived by two sons, George R. Bandarra (Juanita) of Murray, Raymond G. Bandarra (Bambi) of Almo; a daughter, Christina Williams (Chris) of Ocala, FL; a sister, Inez Cordozo; 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4 PM on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1052 KY-121, Murray, KY 42071. Bill Stockwell will officiate.
Imes Funeral Home & Creamatory, downtown Murray is in charge of arrangements.
