A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to reopen the connection between US 62 at Calvert City and the southbound lanes of the Purchase Parkway.
If all goes as planned this morning, the connection from US 62 at Calvert City to the southbound lanes of the Purchase Parkway should be reopened to traffic by sometime this afternoon.
This connection has been closed since April 30th, with traffic detoured via the I-24/US 62 Exit 27 Interchange to allow connecting points to be completed within the reconstructed I-24/Purchase Parkway Exit 25 Interchange.
Motorists should continue to use caution when traveling through this busy work zone.
The reconstruction of the Exit 25 Interchange in Marshall County is part of efforts to allow Interstate 69 to be extended southward along the Purchase Parkway in the future.
