It was a cold start to the season for the Marshall County tennis team as they kicked things off Thursday against four-time Region I champion McCracken County at the Lone Oak tennis center. The girl’s team lost to McCracken 9-0 while the Marshall County boy’s picked up three wins, two in singles and one doubles match. Kaleb Willie defeated Ethan Walker 8-5, Alex Chapman defeated Justin Splane 8-5 and the doubles team of Hayden Jaco and Keifer Court defeated Conner McIntosh and Cameron Wright 8-1. Jaco’s singles match went to a tie-breaker against Ty Crabtree, losing the tie-breaker 7-5.
The next match will be on Monday, March 12 at Christian County starting at 4:15.
