Fairdale man arrested on drug charges

A Fairdale man is facing drug charges after police say he was found under the influence in Marshall County.

Deputies responded Wednesday, Oct. 18 to a residence on Olive Hamlet Road in reference to a call about a man either having a heart attack or having overdosed. Deputies determined on contact that Brian D. West, 53, of Fairdale, had allegedly taken some kind of narcotic, according to Marshall County Sheriff’s Department. Deputies also allegedly discovered a container on West’s key ring that held methamphetamine.

West, according to police, admitted to using meth and heroin in the two days prior to the incident.

West was taken via EMS to Marshall County Hospital, where he was treated and released. He was arrested on suspicion of first-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
