Pharmacists at Benton Pharmacy, Draffenville Pharmacy and Calvert City Pharmacy will hold one-on-one educational sessions with residents to help them select their Medicare plans during the open enrollment period.
Medicare open enrollment runs from Oct. 15-Dec. 7, during which time participants will have the opportunity to switch to a new plan. New plans take effect Jan. 1.
However, plans change each year, according to local pharmacists, and a resident’s current plan may not be the cheapest option when it comes to finding the appropriate plan that fits with their medications. Pharmacists at each location will hold free consultations for Medicare participants to help evaluate their plans and make a change if needed.
