Race to the Canal mountain bike race Sunday Oct. 15


The annual Race to the Canal mountain bike race sponsored by Wood-n-Wave bike shop in Grand Rivers takes place this Sunday, October 15th in Land Between the Lakes.

RACE
The Race to the Canal is a point to point mountain bike race located in the Land Between the Lakes Recreational Area (LBL) operated by the National Forest Service. Two distances are offered for various skill levels.

MARATHON
The Marathon race will begin at the Hwy 68 trailhead of the North/South Trail on the south end. Racers will race 95% single track 37 miles back to the canal that connects Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley. Finish line will be located at the gravel parking lot on Scenic Lake Dr. on the north end of LBL. TBRA points will be awarded to all classes of this CAT except the Open which is reserved for less competitive racers.

CROSS COUNTRY
The cross country race will begin at the crossing of the North/South Trail on the Birmingham Ferry Access Rd 114. Racers will race 95% single track 14.5 miles back to the canal that connects Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley. Finish line will be located at the gravel parking lot on Scenic Lake Dr. on the north end of LBL. No TBRA points will be awarded for this category.
