Mrs. Peggy J. Johnson, 75, of Symsonia, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017, at her home. She was a retired registered nurse for Dr. William Culbertson and was a member of Clarks River Baptist Church.
Born Saturday, March 14, 1942, in Madisonville, she was the daughter of the late George C. Laffoon and the late Ellen (Hall) Laffoon.
Surviving are her husband of 37 years, Frank A. Johnson of Symsonia; daughters, Judy Buchanan of Lexington, Beth Sullivan of Symsonia and Melissa Finney of Bradenton, Fla.; son, Bucky Buchanan of Rochester, N.Y.; brothers, Jim Laffoon of Crystal Lake, Ill., and Bill Laffoon of Madisonville; and mother-in-law, Frances Johnson and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her son, Eric Brian Johnson.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017, at Clarks River Baptist Church, 10962 State Route 131, Symsonia, KY 42082. Rev. Jeff Collins and Rev. Mark Stephens will officiate.
Interment will follow the service in the Symsonia Cemetery in Symsonia.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 29, 2017, at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th in Benton. Additional visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, 2017, at Clarks River Baptist Church.
