Marshall County Recycling recently received a Kentucky Pride grant to help with recycling efforts in the county. In the past, the county has purchased balers, recycling trailers and a mobile shredder through Pride grant funds. This year, the recycling center was able to purchase a new forklift and 200 recycling totes for use in the county school system.

“These totes are heavy duty and meant for paper recycling in classrooms,” said John Miller, recycling supervisor.

In addition, the recycling center also received money for recycling education in the elementary schools.

Recycling will be partner with the Marshall County Public Library Thursday, Sept. 21 for an e-scrap and paper shredding event. E-scrap are electronic devices, such as computers and accessories, cellphones, stereo equipment, etc. The event will take place at the Benton library location.
