| Glenna J. Smith, 89 of Brookport, Ill., passed away at 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at the Metropolis Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Broadway Church of Christ and formerly worked for the Goodluck Glove Company in Metropolis. She is survived by her daughter, Gaila Gay of Brookport, Ill.; her son, Stephen Smith and his wife Claudia of West Paducah; four grandchildren, Derek Gay and wife Tabitha; Kaelyn Gay Buurman, Jeremy Smith and wife Desiree’, and Stephanie Smith Bennett and husband Mike; step grandson, Matt Reynolds and wife Taylor; great-grandchildren, Meagan Buurman, Kylee Bennett and Presleigh Bennett; step-great-grandchildren, Eli Reynolds and Addison Reynolds; and brother, Gayle Edwards and wife Pat of Lone Oak. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billie Joe Smith and her parents, Glen Edwards and Hazel Lents Edwards.
