
Donald Bruce Cutsinger, 79, of Calvert City, passed away at 11:15 a.m. Sunday, June 4, 2017, at his home.
Donald was a member of Lakeview Baptist Church and retired from the Carpenters Local No. 357. He began drag racing in 1990 and found a passion for fast cars and competition. He was also an avid gun enthusiast and collector. Donald was a veteran United States Navy and served on the USS Yorktown.
Donald’s passion for his hobbies and accomplishments were definitely overshadowed by his love and passion for his family.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Anna Richardson Cutsinger of Calvert City; his daughter, Tonya Matherne of Calvert City; his son, Carlton Cutsinger and his wife Tina of Calvert City; three grandchildren; Andy Matherne, Amanda Stokes and Brandi Powell; six great-grandchildren, Gracelyn Matherne, Tyler McLeod, Kaitlin McLeod, Dylan Cutsinger, Harry Cutsinger and Carlee Cutsinger; his sister, Sue Carol Seibert of Calvert City; and two brothers, Buster Cutsinger and wife Linda of Calvert City, and Randy Cutsinger and wife Kelly of Calvert City.
He was preceded in death by his son in law Roy Matherne, a brother-in-law, Billy Seibert and his parents, Elbert A. Cutsinger and Roberta Devine Cutsinger.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, at Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home. Rev. Royce Dukes and Lance Cordle will officiate. Burial will follow in the Marshall County Memorial Gardens with military rites conducted by the American Legion Post No. 236 Honor Guard.
