DRAFFENVILLE – After starting the season 0-10, the Christian Fellowship basketball team has won four straight games, two over Community Christian Academy, Covington Catholic and Egyptian, IL. The Eagles new head coach is Tyler Ryan who took over for Billy Hodge who resigned his position with CFS on December 16th.
The four game win streak began on December 17th in their final game of the CFS Christmas Tournament when they beat CCA 66-48 then followed that up with a 57-19 win over Covington Latin on December 31st.
Led by Brice Etheridge with 26 points, the Eagles beat CCA 55-43 on January 9th. CFS trailed CCA 10-6 at the end of the first quarter but put 20 points on the board in the second quarter to take a 26-22 lead at halftime, going on to out-score CCA 29-21 in the second half for the win. CCA was led in scoring by Logan Browning with 9 points.

Following the CCA win, the Eagles picked up their fourth straight win the next day on January 10th, 54-49 over Egyptian, IL. They trailed 23-16 at halftime but a big 22 point third quarter gave the Eagles a 38-32 lead on their way to a five point win. The Eagles were led in scoring by Jordan Choate with 13 points, Egyptian was led by Christian Trexler with 21 points.
The Eagles will play again on January 20th at Calvary Christian. The Region 10 Cougars are 6-8 and are on a three game losing streak.
