Gas prices continue to fall throughout the Lakes Area

Average gasoline prices in Kentucky have fallen 3 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $1.55 a gallon on Sunday, according to GasBuddy. This compares with the national average of $1.69 a gallon.

In Paducah, prices are ranging from $1.43 to $1.78. Prices in Mayfield were as low as $1.51, in Murray at $1.46, and $1.48 in Benton.

Prices in Kentucky Sunday were 78 cents per gallon lower than the same day one year ago, and are 24 cents per gallon lower than a month ago.

Historically, prices on February 15 in Kentucky have ranged widely over the last five years: $2.33 per gallon last year; $3.29 in 2014; $3.62 in 2013; $3.43 in 2012; and $3.02 in 2011.
