Fiscal Court approves Building Inspection fee changes

fiscal courtBENTON – [VIDEO FOLLOWS REPORT] Marshall County Fiscal Court met in regular session on Monday, February 1, 2016 and addressed the following items.

CORRESPONDENCE
The court approved the purchase of a half page ad in the Lake News annual review of business, industry, education and community publication at the price of $409.50.

OLD BUSINESS
Alleyway vote
In a vote, the court agreed that an alleyway next to S.S. Muffler is not part of the county road system, an issue brought before the court by Attorney Zach Brien with a public hearing held on January 15th in the matter.

Building Fee Ordinance
County Attorney Jeff Edwards read the Second Reading of the Building Fee Ordinance #2016-01. The amended ordinance of fee schedules for method of payment, new construction, addition of existing buildings, alterations and repairs or change in use, failed inspections or addition inspection requests, specialized fees on sprinkler heads and commercial range and hood suppression systems was approved by the court.

Mowing Bids
The court approved for Parks Director Larry Whitt to submit an advertisement for mowing bids for county properties.

NEW BUSINESS
Retirement Circle Drainage
Commissioner Rick Cocke presented information regarding a drainage issue on Retirement Circle. The ditches need to be cleaned out that are on the county right of way and some is on private property in which an agreement has been signed. The court approved to have the county road department clean up the ditch.

EXECUTIVE SESSION
Court went into Executive Session to discuss a litigation.

Upon returning from Executive Session, Judge Executive Kevin Neal called for a motion to approve a contract with Shelton Paving and the audit for Sanitation District #2 which was approved.

The next meeting of the Fiscal Court will be February 16, 2016 at 9:30 AM.
