Traffic Signal Phasing Change at US 62/KY 95 Intersection next week

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to alter phasing of the traffic signal at the intersection of US 62 and KY 95 at Calvert City in Marshall County sometime next week.

At this time, left turns from US 62 to KY 95 are protected turns with turns allowed on green arrow only.

Early in the week, the KYTC District 1 Traffic Group will alter phasing at this intersection to a protected turn phase followed by a permitted turn phase.  In this new configuration, motorists on US 62 attempting to turn left onto KY 95 will have a protected green arrow when oncoming traffic is stopped.  That phase will then be followed by a permitted turn after yielding to oncoming traffic under green.

This phasing change is to improve traffic flow through the intersection.

This intersection is at US 62 mile point 7.2 and KY 95 mile point 4.079.

Motorists should be alert for the crew working in and around this intersection to make appropriate changes to the signal early in the week.

Motorists who regularly travel US 62 and KY 95 in this area should be aware of changes in traffic flow the phasing change may create at the intersection.
