WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman James Comer released the following statement Tuesday following his vote against Congressional Democrats’ $3.5 trillion budget resolution, which narrowly passed the House of Representatives and kicks off the process of implementing the largest spending plan in American history.
“Speaker Pelosi and House Democrats’ $3.5 trillion socialist budget plan will only worsen Joe Biden’s inflation crisis while taxing and spending Americans into oblivion. If ultimately signed into law, this budget will create the highest levels of government spending in history and pass trillions in additional debt along to our children and grandchildren. Further, this resolution paves the way for massive tax hikes on American families, job creators, farmers and future generations. I was proud to vote against this inflation ticking time bomb and hope that as this process moves forward, reasonable Democrats will see the light and stop this socialist spending plan from becoming law.”
